NEW!  GRANT OPPORTUNITY  Extended Deadline!

Grants for Owning Their Words Residency are available to public schools in Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester Counties, SC, with certified teaching artists Linda Stout or Hawk Hurst. Residency is limited to classes of 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade level. 
  

Grants will enable schools to have a 5 day residency for $1,000.
Schools must confirm that they can fulfill the $1,000 matching artist fee for the residency.  Stories for Life will pay the remainder of the artist fee.  
 
Grants will be available for the fall of 2010, and the residency must be completed by December 10, 2010.

Consideration will be given to using two grants at one school if necessary to fulfill the entire grade level as a singular residency.  
 
Application is to be sent by letter to: Stories for Life, 703 Serotina Point, Mount Pleasant, SC, 29464.  Letter should include: 

School, Principal
Contact person making application
Grade level
Number of classes
Teacher name (s)
Contact information
Desired residency dates
 
Consideration will be given to earliest applicants.
